Professional Translation
I believe that a good professional translation can only be achieved by following
three golden principles:
- Proficient understanding of source and
destination languages:
English and Hebrew in my case
- A good understanding of the subject: in order to really
convey the information from one language to another, a professional translator
needs to fully understand the content and context of the document. This
can only be achieved by spending the time necessary to learn about the subject in question.
- Communication: listening to the author’s request is the key.
Only by closely listening to the author’s ideas about his document can a translator
fully understand minute undertones and meaning necessary for a full and exact translation
of a document.
Language Proofing
In many cases where an author is not fluent enough in the language used, some editing
and language proofing is essential in order to convey a clear message. Hebrew and English are very
different in their approach and at times a correct sentence can convey an unclear
message. One of the services I provide is language proofing and analysis, making
sure the correct message is conveyed in the most accurate and professional way.
